I will occasionally get a high pitched ringing in my left ear; it tends to happen only at night, when there’s little noise to begin with (maybe the hum of the computer, the tap-tap of typing, etc.) The noise muffles out other sounds. It’s happened only 2-3 times in the past month, but I’m still somewhat concerned because it tends to do the same thing at the same time. It’ll last for a few minutes and then slowly fade. Nothing else changes, it’s just that my ear suddenly starts ringing.
I got it again today in the middle of the day, this time stronger. It was a definite, clear ringing in my left ear, and other sounds were muffled out (slightly). I don’t think anything in particular set it off, and it dissipated after a few seconds. The sound is the same pitch each time. I’ll read up about tinnitus

I went to a loud rock concert about a year ago, and have had a ringing for about a week in my ears. It soon went away, and I got a slight low pitched humming (barely noticable) in my left ear (ONLY LEFT!). Recently, some high pitched sounds have added on to this, and I have trouble falling asleep, etc. I listen to my ipod at loud levels about once a week (2 hours) , and on very quiet levels for about an hour a day. As well as that, I practice cello, guitar and keyboard almost daily, but on quiet volumes. Could this ringing be a sign of tinnitus? Is it curable as I am fourteen and have just recently gotten this problem? What is a safe level to listen to music to without damaging my hearing? Is going to a doctor of any use?
Thank you, all help is appreciated.
